Aligning Teams Around the Problem
Teams moving in different directions slow progress. Misalignment often shows up as debate about solutions before there is shared clarity on the problem, the constraints, or the tradeoffs.
I help founders and product teams align around what actually needs to be solved so decisions can move forward with confidence instead of friction.
Customer and Internal Requests Can Mask Real Problems
From Notifications to a Shared Dashboard
The work began with a clear customer request. Teachers submitted hundreds of feedback items asking for notifications to track bottles, diaper changes, and nap checks. This request was echoed by sales and quickly surfaced as a high signal roadmap priority.
The team was asked to explore notification designs and validate them through usability testing. On the surface, the request felt straightforward.
As I reviewed broader patterns in the feedback and spoke with internal teams, something did not add up. In parallel requests, teachers were explicitly saying they did not want more interruptions or distractions during the day.
This tension signaled a deeper problem worth unpacking before building anything.
